You can never have too many shoes right?

So I have been eyeing this fabulous Tory Burch wedges for months now but I didn't want to spend the money. I finally gave in today and ordered them from Neiman Marcus, they had free shipping so I couldn't resist. I can't wait until they get here. I think I could wear them everyday.

Before & After

I kept thinking my kitchen needed a little something to spice it up.
I kept searching for things to fix it and then I found some incredible silk fabric on sale that was in the same color palatte as my walls. So I had drapes made. I think it turned out well. Now I just have to find some fabric for my living room but it's just so expensive so I am searching..

I love the beach

I haven't been on a real vacation in years, working and going to the beach doesnt count.. so I decided it was time for a vacation. So I ended up going to Charleston, South Carolina. It is so beautiful there and the weather is so nice. I absolutely fell in love with the city. I went down there to visit an old friend and since he lives there I had my own personal tour guide. I was the there for a week and I even ended up staying an extra night because we were having so much fun. My favorite part of the whole trip was when we took his boat out on the water and visited different islands . It was relaxing and peaceful. Here are few pictures from that day. This first picture is just of the inner harbor. I love all the sea grass there. This is where anchored the boat and layed out in the sun. This is capers island. A beautiful sunset. My captain/ tour guide aka KevinIt was so windy on the front of the boat.

It's officially fall

I apologize for my lack of blogging. I am really trying to update more often. I have been working alot here lately and so I have neglected my house. I came home on Sunday to find my front yard looking like a jungle. I worked in the yard for almost 6 hours on Monday and mind you I don't have a very big yard. I raked leaves, mowed the yard, and even weed eated ( is that a word). The joys of owning a home. The next project is to decorate for fall. I'll have pictures soon!

Who needs a handyman anyway?

I woke up this morning to a soaking wet bathroom floor. Somehow my toilet had overflowed all over the floor and was leaking in my basement. Now that I don't live in an apartment anymore I can't call for their handyman to come fix my toilet. So I called my dad and he told me what I needed to do to fix it so off I went to Home Depot. The men in Home Depot looked at me like I was crazy in there buying plumbing supplies. I came home and fixed the problem. I was so proud of myself. Who needs a handyman when I have myself?

Home Sweet Home

I finally made home this morning. After working until 2AM and then getting on a flight at 7AM home I was worn out when I got home and was so looking forward to crashing in my bed for a couple of hours. I feel like a new person now but while I was napping I noticed my room gets really bright and it made it hard to sleep. When I first moved in my house I bought cheap curtains so I would at least have something and I have been meaning to change them but I just haven't gotten around to it. So now I want to go and get new curtains. Here is a picture of my room now.

I really want to get black and white in a pattern of some sort. I just don't know where to go and look. Anyone have any ideas?

I Love My Job But....

There are days I think that everyone dislikes their job or maybe it's just me but today is one of those days.  It started off great by laying at the beach in Fort Lauderdale but I ended up in Buffalo New York tonight. It is just one of those nights where I miss the little comforts of home. I would give anything to sleep in my own bed tonight but oh well I will be home on Wednesday and I can't wait!!

Great Deals

I apologize for my recent lack of posts. With it being summer I feel like I don't have anytime to sit down and update. Anyway, most of you who know me know that I love to shop and I like nice thing but I can't always afford them so I am constantly looking for great buys. I went to TJMaxx in Chicago last weekend and I found this great pair of Coach shoes. I honestly don't need them but I just had to have them. I got them for 59.99. I thought that was a steal.

Today I was out shopping in Louisville and I decided to run into Stein Mart, which is a store I never go to but I am sure glad I did. I found a of Seven Jeans for $99. I couldn't pass those up either. You can never have too many jeans right?

I promise my next post will be soon!!

Photo Story

Kentucky Newlyweds and The Davidsons tagged me to play this photo story game. I haven't posted in a long time so this is a great way to get back into the blogging world.

Here are the rules:
  • Open your first photo folder
  • Scroll down to the 10th photo
  • Post that photo and story on your blog
  • Tag 5 friends to do the same and tag the person who sent it to you
I haven't looked back at my pictures in a long time. This photo was actually taken my senior year of college on Spring Break. These are all the ADPI's who were in Fort Lauderdale.  This picture makes me miss being in college. We sure had a lot of fun.

Dining Room

After reading my friends blog and seeing her showcase her house every week, I decided to join in on the fun. I recently just bought my house and remodeled the inside. Here is my dining room. This is the view from the kitchen.
The chandelier was the original in the house I just painted it the color of my kitchen.

Cook Yourself Thin

There is a new show on Lifetime called Cook Yourself Thin. It takes everyday recipes and makes them better for you by cutting out alot of the fat and calories. I love French Onion Soup but its so fattening and I didn't know how to make it but they had a recipe for it on the show so I decided to try it. I am not a cook either and it actually turned out and was good. I would definately make it again.

Here is the recipe:

1/4 cup olive oil
2 large white onions, halved lengthwise and cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices crosswise
 4 sprigs fresh thyme
2 bay leaves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/3 cup dry white wine
4 cups low-sodium chicken stock 4 (1-inch-thick) slices whole-wheat baguette, toasted and cooled
2 ounces Gruyere, shaved into paper-thin slices with a cheese plane or vegetable peeler

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

2. Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onions, thyme, bay leaves, salt and pepper, and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are golden (not brown) and nearly melting, about 45 minutes. Stir in wine and simmer, stirring occasionally, until reduced by half. Stir in stock and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes.

3. Place 4 soup crocks or ovenproof bowls (no larger than 4 inches round) on a rimmed baking sheet. Place a baguette slice in each crock. Divide the soup among the bowls and top each with a single layer of cheese slices.

 4. Transfer to the oven and bake until cheese melts and is golden brown in spots and soup is bubbling, about 10 minutes. Serve immediately.

Storms in Dallas

So my plans to enjoy being in San Francisco today didn't happen because of storms in Dallas this morning. We were delayed almost three hours and it put us behind all day :(. Needless to say passengers were not happy today but we tried to make the most of it. There wasn't anything we could do. Its the part of the job that isn't too fun. Sometimes you never know where you are going to get stuck or where you are going to end up. The weather was beautiful in San Francisco tonight though. We had mexican food and margaritas by the bay so I can't complain too much. I am off to Chicago tomorrow morning and will be back in Louisville tomorrow night.

Back to Reality

So after being off of work for 2 and 1/2 weeks I was not thrilled about having to go back. It was great being on vacation even though I didn't go anywhere. So not only did I not want to go back to work but I had to fly to chicago last night and I got a wake up call from Scheduling at 3 AM telling me I need to be at the airport at 5 AM. Needless to say I was not happy. I hadn't been up before 10 AM in the past two weeks. So after getting ready for work I walk outside to find that its pouring down rain and I have about a 15 minute walk to the airport. The one time I forget my umbrella was today. I left it in my car in Louisville.  Not a great way to start off the day. I thought it was going to be downhill from there but I ended up in San Antonio, Texas this afternoon and it was 90 degrees and sunny. So I headed to the pool. It was a great relaxing way to spend the afternoon.  The reality of work slapped me in the face today. At least now I am not in vacation mode anymore.  Anyway I have to get to bed.. another early start in the morning but at least I am heading to San Francisco. I can't wait to get out in the city.

The Amazing Race

I am so addicted to the Amazing Race show. I started watching it half way through the season and now I don't miss an episode. Now I really want to go on the show.  What better way to see the world and do all kinds of things you wouldn't normally do with a chance of winning a million dollars.  Anyone want to be my partner?

Hot Pink Cuff

While I was reading one of my weekly gossip magazines I came across a bracelet that I fell in love with and it was from Target. So needless to say as soon as I got home from my trip I went to Target only to find out that it was not only sold out in the store but online as well. I was determined to have to the braclet so I searched ebay and I found it but it was listed for $100 and the bracelet was only $39.99 at Target.  I can't bring myself to pay $100 for a Target bracelet. Now I am on the list to be notified when it becomes available again.  Who knew Target jewelry was so popular.

Welcome to my life

I am new to the whole blogging scene but I thought it would be a great way to stay in touch and keep track of all I do and where I go.  So a little bit about me.  I have been a flight attendant for the past the 2 and a half years. Time flies. I thought it was a temporary job and here I am still. It's a great way to see the world and meet alot of new people.  I currently live in Louisville and work out of Chicago. Its a crazy life but someone has to do it. I hope you enjoy the adventures of my life.
